COR — the Kashruth Council of Canada, Canada’s largest kosher certification agency, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rabbi Tuvia Basser as its new Chief Executive Officer. Rabbi Basser has had a distinguished career in the for profit sector, having worked at Canada’s largest company at the time, Nortel Networks for twenty years, in senior management positions including Director of Engineering, Nortel Israel. In the not for profit sector, Rabbi Basser was the founding principal at Toronto Talmud Torah and has lectured at schools and synagogues across Toronto for many years.
“My goals,” relates Rabbi Basser, “are to improve service to all of our customers, and continue building an institution that benefits the entire Jewish community.”
Rabbi Basser will be working alongside a seasoned COR team including Rabbi Yaakov Felder, Vice Chairman of the Rabbinical Vaad Hakashrus of Toronto. The entire COR staff along with the Jewish community at large wishes Rabbi Basser great success.
