As the spring season begins (or struggles to), it is extremely important to take extra caution when washing and inspecting different types of produce for insect infestation. The spring is notorious for bringing along with it heavy insect infestation and this year is no different. We are already receiving continuous reports of heavy infestation in green leaf lettuce, particularly the YK Brand. Regular romaine hearts, even Andy Boy, are now more infested that they have been all winter long.
If you find any type of produce to be heavily infested, particularly if it is an aphid infestation, please proceed as follows: 1) do not use that particular batch of produce; and 2) contact our office with the company name, country of origin and infestation type.
